Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture has been a healing method since its formal first discovery recorded in China between 300 B.C and 100 B.C.
Its practical principles and methods are easily understood:
1. There are 14 major energy channels called meridians which course through the whole body including head, arms, hands, legs, feet, torso and internal organs.
2. A subtle energy called “qi” circulates via the meridians to all the
body.
3. Any misdirection, blockage or other derangement of the amount, flow or balance of "qi" may result in pain, dysfunction and ill health.
4. With Acupuncture needles and other methods like cupping, moxa, cold, warmth and herbal therapy the normal balance and flow of qi is restored. This way, the organs and bodily systems can work together
in harmony as intended. This sets the stage for the body to repair itself and maintain its own health.
Methods of diagnosis:
1. Pulse and Tongue diagnosis- an intricate expert evaluation of the pulses and the tongue color and texture reveals excesses, deficiencies, disharmonies of qi and what organs are involved.
2. Observation of the patient- the texture and color of the skin, thickness or lack of it in the hair, tone of the voice if it is high or low pitched, hoarse etc gives many answers for diagnosis differentiation.
3. Questionnaire and Interview with the patient- Seeking a history of illness, the patient’s family tree, feelings, lifestyle and diet. All of these as well as emotional problems may contribute to qi’s imbalance.
4. Physical Examination- palpation of pressure or painful points allows the Acupuncture practitioner to concentrate on what is called “ashi” points that might or might not be on a particular meridian but can
alleviate a persons specific condition.
Treatment options and packages:
Facial rejuvenation
Also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a virtually painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process. The technique uses Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to erase years off the face. Based on the principles of Oriental Medicine, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture helps the whole body look and
feel younger by addressing the physical, mental and emotional patterns that cause disease and contribute to the aging process.
In order to attain desired effects, a series of 10 to 15 Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatments are required. After completing a course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results. Maintenance sessions usually occur monthly for 2 to 3 months and then seasonally for as long as you wish to maintain results.
If you are planning to go to an important event, make sure you make your appointment 2-3 days prior to your event since slight bruising might appear right after the treatment.

Weight loss
Acupuncture for weight loss has proven to be a great adjunct therapy for any highly motivated patient who is looking to increase his or her possibilities of long lasting and healthy weight loss. The use of thin Acupuncture needles combined with electro stimulation, herbal therapy and ear Acupuncture are used to stimulate the metabolism, promote the release of excess water retention and reduce anxious and stress related overeating.
The number of Acupuncture treatments necessary depends on the patient's goals for losing weight, the speed at which they want to lose, and their commitment to keeping the weight off. If the overeating is severe, a treatment every day for the first five days is appropriate and can then taper off the second week to every other day and the third week to every three days. For the average patient who wants to lose between five to ten pounds, one treatment every three days or twice a week until they reach their goal is appropriate, and then a booster treatment once every two weeks is optimal.
